When it comes to putting together a fun outing in Santa Barbara, we’ve got you covered. That’s why we were thrilled when our friends at Ontraport asked us to treat their certification course students to a customized Seeker outing. Not only did the group get to experience a cool side of Santa Barbara, they also got to connect in a unique social setting outside of the classroom.
What Ontraport Requested:
We customized the app to include the requested stops and branded it with Ontraport images. Since the majority of the group was from out of town (and some even from other countries), we created a pamphlet that shared information about Santa Barbara County wines, the Funk Zone neighborhood, and a summary on each winery included in the tour. Everyone was emailed access to the Ontraport Wine Walk beforehand and simply opened the app on their phones once they got to the Funk Zone. Folks who weren’t very tech savvy or didn’t have data just buddied up and redeemed wine items together at each stop.
We worked with EOS Transportation to provide an awesome round-trip ride from the Ontraport campus to the Funk Zone. The sleek and comfortable mini-bus was perfect for the group.
Main Winery Stops:
The group requested to wine taste in the Funk Zone, so we chose a few stops all within a block of each other; that way the group could spread out a bit, but not get too separated. The Seeker app guided them to each stop while allowing them to wander and enjoy wine at their own pace.
Oreana Winery was lively as usual with a band jamming outside when we first arrived, which was a fun introduction to the Funk Zone.
We served locals' favorite Rusty’s Pizza and set up a casual dining table in Oreana's barrel room. Everyone enjoyed a glass of their choice and paired it with an assortment of pizzas. The wine, pizza, and cool space provided the perfect atmosphere for the group to socialize and relax after a long day in the classroom.
Santa Barbara Wine Collective
The group loved the spacious seating area and sleek decor inside the Wine Collective. They enjoyed a glass of Ca’Del Grevino wine while learning more about wines produced in the region.
Area 5.1 Winery
Area 5.1 provided a memorable tasting experience in part due to the quirky and offbeat setting. The tasting flight included 5 out of this world blends.
Everyone loved how unique and different each tasting room was. They got to experience the Funk Zone the way locals do, by walking to each stop, checking out street art, and mingling with others around them.
A Gift for Guests
In addition to wine included at each stop, there were also additional discounts and special offers built into the Ontraport Wine Walk pack. If people really liked the wine at one place, there were bottle discounts for purchasing, plus 2 for 1 tasting offers at additional wineries in the area. This way they could return to the Funk Zone during their stay and take advantage of the added benefits.
The group loved getting a taste of the local wine scene! We can't wait to work with Ontraport again and treat their next group to a fun experience in Santa Barbara.
